Around Cortona

1 Jun

These are some of the sights in Cortona we see daily on our walks…

This year, we are delighted to be here for the Giostra dell’ Archidado, a fully costumed festival that commemorates the wedding of the lord of Cortona in 1397. Starting tomorrow, there will be many events held over the next week including crossbow competitions, a reenactment of the wedding, dinners, and all types of medieval entertainment! A photographers paradise and we are ready!

Ciao!

Judy

Sounds and looks like you are having a wonderful time in Cortona. So glad you are enjoying it. Has Len found that bar yet? Guess what – our green cards were processed today (along with our finger prints and mug shots!) and while we wait for our new cards we have graciously been granted a 12 month extension on the expired green cards (so we could have travelled after all). A little late for Italy but maybe that cruise on the Danube might be a possibility after all.

Yes we found THAT bar and it is busy but so small and the owner works from open till close…no time to relax. Glad to hear all went well and you’ve been duly processed! Too bad we didn’t know about the extension sooner…maybe next summer! Danube might be great.
