Happy 2015!

31 Dec

Since I prefer New Year’s reflections over resolutions, I’d like to share a few personal reflections with you:

  1. I’m thankful to be alive, healthy and surrounded by a loving close and extended family.
  2. I’m grateful for the wonderful friends I have, both near and far.
  3. I’m thankful Len loves Italy as much as I do and that we are very compatible travel mates.
  4. I’m excited about the future and discovering what lies ahead.
  5. I’m honored that my blog has been viewed over 30,700 times, thankful for the many friends I have made, and always grateful for new experiences, like finding my grandfather’s home in Pietrabbondante.
  6. I’m delighted that Benita followed her dreams and spent a semester in Rome  – and loved it.
  7. I’m appreciative of the small wrinkles around my eyes and mouth as they are a testament to how much I smile and laugh.
  8. I’m ok with a less than perfect figure because few things are better than enjoying great food and wine with those I love.
  9. I’m fine with some age spots on my skin, as I’ve enjoyed my fair share of suntans.
  10. I’m grateful that I lived long enough to become great – as in great-aunt, as nothing can warm my heart more than my great nieces and nephew. Bring on those smile wrinkles!

New Year’s Eve is my birthday. I’m sending you a copy of the card my husband put together. I thought of you, Judy, when I saw it.
